There are several books about the November Pogrom of 1938. Some of the more detailed publications are listed below.

POGROM - NOVEMBER 1938: Testimonies from 'Kristallnacht'

Edited by Ruth Levitt

Souvenir Press, London, 2015

This book was published in 2015 as part of a Wiener Library project to translate and make more accessible this important collection of over 350 testimonies and reports of the November Pogrom in Germany and Austria. This website acts as a companion to the book, and we will continue to enhance and improve it over time.

This book contains new English translations of the original German eye-witness testimonies and JCIO press reports, as well as introductory essays by Ben Barkow (Wiener Library Director) and Ruth Levitt (Editor and Wiener Library Research Fellow). To aid in the understanding and searching of testimonies, the book contains a bespoke Glossary, a list of selected named individuals, and an index of people, places, and subjects, as well as previously unpublished historical images from the Wiener Library's Photo Archive and images and maps supplied by the other Holocaust centres around the world.

Stiftung Denkmal für die ermordeten Juden Europas, Berlin, 2008 and 2013

Andreas Nachama, Uwe Neumärker, Hermann Simon (Herausgeber)

This book was first published in 2008, to mark the 70th anniversary of the November Pogrom and to accompany exhibitions and events held in Berlin.
